LOVEFiLM Player Debuts on the iPad

LOVEFiLM is proud to announce the LOVEFiLM App is now available on the iPad. The App allows users to instantly watch, pause, fast-forward and rewind their movie stream, view trailers and add to their DVD rental list on the go.

Subscribers can instantly watch titles from leading and independent studios such as Colin Firth’s A Single Man, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the critically acclaimed drama The Wrestler, and access exclusive movies such as the global phenomenon The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and RED starring Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren.

Since the original press release the app hit number 1 on the iPad App chart for a week, and I have to say it looks amazing.

LOVEFiLM PREMIERES ON XBOX 360

Microsoft and LOVEFiLM have today announced a partnership that will make LOVEFiLM part of the next generation of TV entertainment, bringing the service to millions of Xbox 360 users across the UK and Germany.

The agreement between the two leading home entertainment companies sees LOVEFiLM become an official Xbox LIVE integrated film service provider and is the next step in LOVEFiLM’s strategy for multi-platform delivery – offering streaming on the LOVEFiLM Player, through the PC, iPad®, in-home connected living room devices, PlayStation®3 and, now Xbox 360.

UK and German LOVEFiLM members will be able to instantly stream thousands of titles from major studios and independents, in addition to the rental by post service. Exclusive content available to stream includes the global phenomenon The Twilight Saga, Unknown, starring Liam Neeson and thriller Source Code, starring Jake Gyllenhaal – to name a few.

With Kinect for Xbox 360, user interaction will be made more personal and intuitive, with the ability to effortlessly control the LOVEFiLM Player App through motion, gestures and voice commands. This interactivity will revolutionise the way film fans manage their movie selection and engage with LOVEFiLM.

Coming soon to the LOVEFiLM Player - Twilight:Eclipse -

Our streaming service is going to get a major boast on the 1st of October, when Twilight:Eclipse becomes available as part of all streaming packages. This means members and trialists will be able to watch it online with no extra charges.

Pretty good timing with New Moon out in the cinema in November and our Exclusive trailer proving very popular. The Twilight series is massive, so a flagship title to promote.

If you are not a Twilight fan there are many other films, such as the awesome Red that will be available. This is one of the best films I've seen this year in terms of pure fun and action.

LoveFilm is to launch a raft of interactive features as part of its sponsorship of next month’s London Film Festival.

During the 55th annual festival (12th-27th October), LoveFilm, Europe’s largest film and TV subscription service, will produce daily video diaries, exclusive access to talent and reviews of all the major films showing.

LOVEFiLM top in terms of repeat use of video on demand

Marketing Week had a good article last week, since covered by one of our affiliates choosedvdrental as well, on the trends within on-demand viewing. This included a poll of 15,000 people to see which were the most popular services.

The key highlight - 67% of those that trialled the LOVEFiLM streaming went on to use the service more than twice - making us the most successful service in terms of repeat viewing. This was much better than Sky Player, iTunes, Sky Movies Box Office and Blink Box among several other big name brands.

New addition to the LOVEFiLM Affiliate team - Elena Magana

LOVEFiLM are pleased to announce that Elena Magana will be joining us as Affiliate and Email Manager on August 1st, giving us more brains to help manage our affiliate marketing in the UK. This will allow me to spend more time working with Amazon on the various partnership campaigns we are now running since they bought LOVEFiLM.

I'll be starting to hand over a lot of the day to day work and affiliate relationships to Elena over the coming month and setting up various meetings. If you'd like to get some time with us to discuss ways to grow the sales you drive for LOVEFiLM or ways we could do things differently please get in touch.

Elena joins us from Affiliate Future when she was Merchant Development Manager and before that she worked at DGM, so chances are you may have already spoken to her or worked on campaigns she helped to manage.
