All members to get free movie streaming

LoveFilm has launched a campaign in which members can watch thousands of films and TV series online for free via the LoveFilm Player. This makes the service even more attractive to potential members that you can promote our service to.

Major film studios Dreamworks, Momentum and Paramount are backing the promotion, which starts on 11 June and will be supported by a multi-million-pound online and offline ad campaign.

Users can watch films and TV series – including UK exclusives like BAFTA-nominated Let The Right One In and Oscar-winner Departures – on their computers and web-enabled TVs.

Chief marketing officer Simon Morris said, “This is our biggest digital promotion and a first of its kind in the UK. This month-long trial is a great way to highlight our full DVD and digital streaming hybrid offering.”

LOVEFiLM up for another A4U award

The A4U nominations have been announced and once again LOVEFiLM is up for a big prize. You may recall last year we received the highly commended nod in the category for best use of affiliate marketing in an integrated campaign, and the award has had a revamp this year.

Argos beat us to this award last year but I was very happy to have made the final four and to then be placed 2nd - after I got over the disappointment of not winning. It will be a great night on June 9th and I wuold love to win but will enjoy seeing a celebration of the industry.

I will also be hoping to pick up the award to celebrate how well i-level have done for the past 8 months managing our affiliate programme after their sad demise.

You may already be aware of the issues at i-level and in light of this I would like to confirm a few points and answer 2 key questions.


As Affiliate Window invoice LOVEFiLM directly there will be no effect to your normal payment cycle, and absolutely no loss of earnings/commissions for any LOVEFiLM affiliates.

Therefore, please continue your activity as originally planned.

Latest TV Campaign - helping affiliate sales and clicks

LOVEFiLM is pretty much always advertising on TV these days but in May we have a particularly heavy plan with increased exposure. What this means is CTR and click to sale rates for our online activity also increases and affiliates earn more money.

We have proven that TV advertising greatly helps all of our marketing and affiliates really benefit. Loyalty, comparison and email see the obvious help from the brand awareness but it also helps content sites, voucher affiliates and social games/apps. Affiliates are able to get their LOVEFiLM promotion in front of an online audience in a more timely manner and to drive the sale to completion better than other marketing activity.
